Just about every company “has an app for that” and Nike is not one to be undone. I recently started using Nike’s fitness app, “Nike Training Club” and it has quickly become one of my favorite ways to get in a good workout since it requires little to no equipment and is a great way to get in a sweat session when I’m short on time.
Overall, I was very impressed with the app the first time I used it. It’s very simple to use it and each time you log in, the home screen shows you how many minutes you have completed and the number of minutes you need to attain your next goal. From the home screen, you select “Get Workout”, choose a goal, an intensity level and a specific 30-45 minute workout.
Aside from the app’s ease of use, there are a few other features that make this app stand apart from other fitness applications. First, the exercises are very easy to follow. Within each circuit, users can click on an individual exercise and watch a short video that shows you how to do the exercise with proper form.
Second, if you have the iPhone app, you can sync your workout with an existing playlist that will play during your workout. Each circuit is also narrated by a woman’s voice (I have my own affectionate name for her that I will not share) who tells you how much time is left, what equipment to use, when to switch exercises and how to maintain proper form.
Last but not least, at the end of each completed circuit, you have the option to post your completed workout to Facebook, Twitter or e-mail, so it’s great way to challenge friends and stay up to date on your progress. Follow @nikewomen to see what people are saying about NTC.
