Pushing Through and Protein Pancakes

March 1, 2012 by Danielle

Although some people think I like to work out all day every day and that I get up at the crack of dawn to do so, that just isn’t true.

There are days (or weeks) when the alarm goes off, I hit snooze and roll over. This has been one of those weeks.

I guess the extra day in February tired me out, because I wasn’t feeling so hot when I arrived home yesterday after work. I sat on the couch fence about working out for about 30 minutes-I knew I would probably feel better afterwards, but I just didn’t feel like moving. Then I recalled fellow blogger Bess’ post about a similar situation, which pushed me on to the “just start moving” side of the fence.

I found an at home circuit from Women’s Health Magazine, adding in one minute of jump roping between exercises to get my heart rate up.

The No Wait Workout

After 20 minutes, I was only one-third of the way through watching Slade Smiley humiliate himself (again) on the latest episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, but I was completely done with my circuit!

Lo and behold, I did feel better than when I started, so I decided to keep a good thing going and completed the Tone It Up “Sunset Circuit” twice and even got some Twitter cheerleading —

A little bit of expert inspiration always helps!

Done and done.

After my post work power-up, I continued with the Tone It Up theme and had peanut butter protein pancakes for dinner.

Glamour shot! Trust me, you don't want to see the after.

Moral of this story-Sometimes you just have to power up and power through-more often than not, it’s worth it. Also, alliteration is a blogger’s best friend.
